Joel Botello.   

General Director

Joel leads with a strong sense of purpose and community responsibility. He uses folklórico as a way to connect dancers to their roots while creating opportunities for cultural representation, education, and service within the Tulsa community. Joel brings vision and cultural grounding to Ballet Folklórico Sol Azteca. His leadership centers on preserving tradition while creating meaningful opportunities for dancers to connect with their heritage and serve the community. He is deeply invested in mentorship, cultural pride, and building a strong sense of identity through dance.

Andrew Boehl

Artistic Director 

Andrew fosters an inclusive and supportive environment where dancers are encouraged to grow, collaborate, and uplift one another. His leadership emphasizes unity and teamwork. Andrew’s strength lies in connection and refinement. He focuses on technique, musicality, and performance quality while fostering an inclusive, supportive environment. His approach emphasizes teamwork, confidence, and helping dancers feel seen and valued as part of the group.

Nancy Nguyen

Kids Artistic Director 

Guiding the next generation, Nancy plays a vital role in nurturing young dancers. Through patience and encouragement, she helps children develop confidence, discipline, and a love for culture—laying the foundation for lifelong community involvement. Nancy brings patience, care, and encouragement to the Children’s Company. She specializes in nurturing young dancers, building strong foundations in discipline and cultural appreciation, and helping students grow confidence at an early age. Her work ensures the future of the folklórico community is strong and welcoming.

Jennifer Moreno 

Wardrobe Manager

The role of Wardrobe Manager is essential to the success of any dance company, and Jennifer Moreno fulfills this responsibility with exceptional dedication and care. Behind every polished performance is her tireless work ensuring that each costume is organized, complete, and stage-ready.

Jennifer oversees the care, preparation, and coordination of our folklórico wardrobe, paying close attention to detail while honoring the cultural integrity of each region’s attire.
